乘客：我也是飞行员，着急去度假。

据《华盛顿邮报》报道，当地时间9月2日，一架易捷航空的航班宣布延误后，发生了令人意想不到的事，一名乘客自告奋勇想要开飞机。

这架航班计划从英国曼彻斯特起飞去往西班牙阿利坎特，但由于缺少飞行员，所以将延误数个小时。

For an EasyJet plane full of people heading from Manchester, England, to Alicante, Spain, on Monday, that announcement was followed by something unexpected. To get everyone off the ground, a fellow passenger would fly the plane.

乘客米歇尔·波茨（Michelle Potts）说，她到达机场后发现，这架航班将延误几个小时。但是航班信息突然更新，通知乘客航班已准备就绪，她立马赶往登机口。

她在自己的海外社交媒体账号上写道：

"Get to boarding and asked the guy at the desk what's going on. He said, 'Oh, your pilot's gone missing, but a guy that's going on your flight is going to fly the plane.' REALLY CASUALLY!!!"

“我去登机口时，问工作人员发生了什么。 工作人员用一种很轻松的语气回答， ‘您这架航班的飞行员不见了，但是一名乘客将会代替他开走飞机。’这也太随意了吧！”

原来，这位“自告奋勇的乘客”迈克尔·布拉德利（Michael Bradley），是一名正在度假途中的易捷航空飞行员。

The informality of his delivery was because the "guy" was Michael Bradley, an EasyJet pilot heading out for his own vacation.

迈克尔在电话中对航空公司说他正着急去度假。

"I'd very much like to go on holiday. And if you need a favor, I'm standing here ready to go."

“我真的非常想去度假，如果需要帮助，我已经准备好了。”

易捷航空发言人表示，该航空公司在其网站上发布了延迟信息。由于法国空中交通管制计算机前一天发生故障，所以航班需要新的机组人员。

The airline needed to bring in standby personnel Monday after delays were caused by a French air-traffic-control computer failure on Sunday, the spokesman said.

由于新安排的机长到这儿需要一些时间，所以飞行将被推迟两个小时。但在安检前，迈克尔自己想试试。毕竟作为一个飞行员，他已经在机场了。

He said he called EasyJet and explained that he was "doing nothing" at the terminal and had his license and identification with him. (He was not in uniform, but none of the passengers seemed to mind.)

他打电话给易捷航空，说他正好带着飞行执照和身份证明，并且在航站楼“无所事事”。（虽然他没有穿制服，但没有乘客介意这一点。）

"They phoned me back and said, 'Please, please, pretty please with a big cherry on top, can you fly the airplane to Alicante?' "

易捷航空的一份声明称，该航空公司对一位在度假期间“自愿驾驶航班”的飞行员表示感激。根据声明，这是完全符合规定的。该航空公司称，他已经休了四天假，休息得很好，法律允许他飞行。

 

A statement from EasyJet said the airline was "grateful" to one of its pilots who "volunteered to operate the flight" while he was on vacation. The substitution was "fully in line with regulations," according to the statement. He had been off the previous four days, was well rested and was allowed by law to fly, the airline said.
