什么是独角兽企业？

据百度百科，独角兽公司一般指投资界对于10亿美元以上估值，并且创办时间相对较短（一般为十年内）还未上市的公司的称谓。（A unicorn is a privately held start-up company valued at over $1 billion.）

China has the world's largest number of "unicorns," privately-held start-up firms valued at more than $1bn (£771m), according to a new report.

据一项新报告，中国独角兽企业数量全世界居首位，（独角兽企业是指）民营初创企业价值超过10亿美元。

The country has produced 206 unicorns while the US has 203, the China-based Hurun Institute reported.

根据胡润报告，中国有206个独角兽企业，美国有203个。

Together the two countries are home to more than 80% of the world's unicorns.

中美两国拥有世界80%以上的独角兽公司。

Chinese payments company Ant Financial tops the list with a valuation of $150bn.

蚂蚁金服以1500亿美元的估值排名第一。

Founded in 2014, Ant Financial's main business is online payment platform Alipay, which was spun out of e-commerce giant Alibaba.

蚂蚁金服成立于2014年，主要业务是（运营）从阿里巴巴剥离出来的支付宝。

China's Bytedance ranks second, with a valuation of $75bn. The fast-growing technology firm owns popular video-sharing platform TikTok.

字节跳动以750亿美元的估值排名第二，旗下包括流行的视频分享平台抖音。

Chinese ride-sharing company Didi Chuxing rounds out the top three, valued at $55bn.

滴滴出行排名第三，价值550亿美元。

High-profile US companies including home-rental site Airbnb, office space firm WeWork and electronic cigarette maker Juul also feature in the top 10.

入围全球十大独角兽的还有民宿短租平台爱彼迎，联合办公空间WeWork以及美国电子烟品牌Juul。

"The rest of the world needs to wake up to creating an environment that allows unicorns to flourish in."

Hurun, which released its inaugural Global Unicorn List Monday, told AFP this was the first time China's number of unicorns was confirmed by researchers to have surpassed the US.

The companies identified by Hurun were founded only seven years ago on average, and more than half come from five industries "disrupting the world economy," Hoogewerf said.

胡润发现上榜的企业平均年龄7年，一半以上的企业来自“颠覆世界的五大行业”。

"Chinese companies are far and away the most successful at spinning off unicorns, with 18 of the world's 20 'spun-off' unicorns," Hoogewerf said.

Hoogewerf表示，“中国企业在‘剥离独角兽’业务上是最成功的。全球20家企业分拆出来的独角兽， 有18家是中国企业。”
